The concept

Armenia’s National Chemical Cluster

The concept connects the Vanadzor Nitrogen Chemicals Complex with the Yerevan New Nairit Polychloroprene Complex. It builds on Armenia’s industrial expertise to establish modern facilities with shared engineering, research, training and logistics. Large-scale fertiliser production would provide industrial scale, while polymers and downstream processing would create higher-value materials and products within Armenia.

What the project brings together

01

Build a modern nitrogen chemicals hub

Develop fertilisers and associated products in Vanadzor, supported by integrated utilities, reliable feedstocks and export logistics.

02

Create the New Nairit materials platform

Establish phased production of polychloroprene rubbers and latexes in Yerevan, with downstream adhesives, coatings, membranes and industrial rubber products.

03

Connect industry, research and safety

Coordinate laboratories, workforce training, digital production management and environmental monitoring, with site and process safety studies guiding development.

The intended impact

A diversified industrial platform for exports, skilled employment, applied research and higher-value manufacturing in Armenia.

This is an ADKARS proposal. Timeframes, investment figures and outcomes in the publications are planning assumptions or targets, subject to further studies and decisions.
